At Home Mini-Mushroom Farm

Would you like to try your hand at growing your own healthy, nutritious, and most DEFINITELY delicious gourmet mushrooms? We’ll look no further! TKF Mushrooms is now offering a variety of different species in a simple, small 3LBS pre-inoculated substrate block, and with a few simple steps… you too can grow and harvest your very own gourmet mushrooms in your home or office! 
1) Receive and inspect your kit when it arrives. Please check for any damage such a rips or punctures in the bag (and contact us to discuss any issues.)
2) Find a suitable location to place your kit, preferably in the most humid section of the house, to provide additional moisture for your mushrooms. 
3) Gently cut through the plastic bag and into the substrate along the dotted lines, approximately 1/4” into the colonized substrate. 
4) We recommend spritzing the location of the cut 4-5 times throughout the day with water (which also sometimes requires a plate or mat underneath to catch any excess.)
5) Depending on the species, you should see tiny pin-sets of mushroom fruiting bodies begin to appear within 5-7 days. 
6) Continue to nurture your mushrooms with water spritzing, and you will start to see the mushrooms begin to double in size every day!! 
7) Depending on the species, you should be able to harvest within 10-14 days! From this point, once mature you can gently cut off the mushroom fruiting body close to the substrate, and cook with your desire method or recipe!
8) Most species will continue to produce a 2nd, and sometimes even a third “flush” of fresh mushrooms from the same opening, but sometimes it’s best to flip the bag over and find a fresh location of unexposed mycelium, for best results.
